Establishment of the Kerala State Energy Conservation Fund
The Energy Conservation Act, 2001 (EC Act) provides the Central Government, State Governments and the newly established Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) with certain powers and functions. The Government of Kerala has designated the Energy Management Centre (EMC) as the nodal agency to meet the requirements of the EC Act, 2001. The USAID ECO-Asia Clean Development and Climate Program (CDCP), with financial support from the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate, entered into a partnership agreement with the EMC, Department of Power, Government of Kerala, to support the State in its efforts to create the Kerala State Energy Conservation Fund (KSECF).
